Kress Department Store

Kress is an old and unavailable department store in Edmonton, Canada.

 It was built by Abel Mendes in 1868. It was very enormous and it attracted many Canadian. Shops inside of Kress were selling almost everything, mostly; clothes, coffee and stuffs for home. So it became famous quickly and people in another county came to Canada for shopping. It went like this for 15 years. But in 1883, it burnt because of a work accident. 

A worker who was working at the coffee-shop, accidentally left the coffee grains in too much heat.When he realized his mistake, it was too late. The fire killed 54 person-including a coffee worker. After this accident no one fixed the department store and it was destroyed in 1885.
