    Polite is a concept that varies from person to person and country to country. For example, as it is known in China, the Chinese use chopsticks instead of forks, spoons or knives while eating. Eating smack at the table means thanking them. How rude of us, isn't it? Although it may seem disrespectful to us, it is perceived as courtesy by them. Let me give another example, eye contact is not made unless necessary in Russia, it is perceived as disrespect in us. Therefore, if you go abroad, learn about the behavior of that country.
